Islamic Malay Sultans and Sri Rama Paduka

In Malaysia there are nine sultans. One of them is installed as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or President of the country, every five years in rotation. He takes oath office in the name of “URUSAN SERI PADUKA DHULI BEGINDA” (as was done by Bharata in Ramayana) which means by the orders of the Dust of Lord Raja Rama’s Paduka. They consider the dust of the Paduka to be holier than the Paduka itself.

The Prime Minster and his cabinet ministers in Malaysia take oath of office in the name of Lord Raja  Rama’s Paduka ‘Urusan Seri Paduka‘.

All government orders are issued in the name of Sri Paduka.  Even Islamic places of worship are built by the order of Sri Paduka. The Penang  mosque has a plague which in English translation reads “This mosque has been built by the orders of Seri Paduka in 1974.”
